I never understood the pain
You were going through each day.
Whenever I asked, or tried to help
You hugged me and told me you were OK.
Now I am older and I see
All the obstacles you got through.
You always held up your head and stayed strong.
That's what people most admired about you.
Now you are gone when I need you the most
You always helped me before…..
My problems are getting as big as yours.
Physical pain hurts, but emotional pain hurts more.
Things have been hard without you,
All I could do was cry.
But I know you're watching down on me
And I get stronger as each day goes by.
My heart is growing colder,
My tears are dying down.
I know that I'm getting stronger
When I smile instead of frown.
I try to stay strong for everyone.
Like you did for me
I help them and try not to cry
And when I do, I don't let them see me.
I want you to know I love and miss you
And think of you every day.
I just wish you were here to hug me again
And tell me it'll be okay.
